Much of the enjoyment in the hobby is in the challenge of building the models yourself.

Those In Between

Not everyone falls into either of these extremes. In fact, the majority of people probably prefer something in between. On the one hand, there is a lot to be said for a relatively sturdy model that can be built and flown with less risk. On the other hand, something like a scale model of a Spitfire or Mustang holds more drama than a model that looks like a child\'s toy. Many RC airplanes exist to fulfill this desire for a middle-of-the-road model. Many are scale models pre-built from sturdy plastic in the shape of recognizable aircraft.
